The series follows forensic psychiatrist Joel Lazarus (Claflin), who returns to his family home following the apparent suicide of his estranged father, Jonathan (Nighy), also a psychiatrist. Joel is still haunted by the unsolved murder of his sister, which occurred 25 years prior. Convinced that his father would not have taken his own life, Joel begins experiencing unsettling phenomena and disturbing visions. These events compel him to dig into his father's old files, uncovering a series of cold cases that may be connected to what truly happened to his father and his sister.
