Karadut centers on Zuhal Erdem, a personal development expert at the peak of her career, who has achieved success through her consulting on love and relationships and the books she has written. However, despite her persona as a modern, beautiful urban woman, she is entirely different at home, where she lives with her father and sisters. Zuhal's life turned upside down when she lost her mother due to an incident when she was just 17 years old. She dedicated herself to raising her three sisters and caring for her father, living her deceased mother's life until her 40s. Zuhal never defied the strict and extremely obsessive orders of her father, Çetin. She raised her sisters Figen, who is just a few years younger than her, Asli, who is in her 20s, and Begüm, who is still a high school student, sacrificing everything for them.
