The Monitor must enlist heroes from all over the DC Multiverse after its malevolent counterpart, the Anti-Monitor, wreaks havoc on it. Other heroes, including a new Green Lantern Corps, join the battle as the Flash, sent by an enigmatic figure, arrives on Earth-3. Superman is devastated when Supergirl gives her life to defeat the Anti-Monitor. When the heroes assemble on Warworld, Batman discloses a startling fact regarding the Crisis's beginnings.
